In a working session between the rangers of the National Service of Protected Natural Areas by the State (Sernanp) and private enterprise, it was held the activity to plant more than 2000 copies of Queñua.

According Sernanp work was carried out in the sector Toccopujio, this with the support of the people of Huayllabamba sector. Thanks to the plantation of these specimens is seeking to recover vegetation cover on degraded areas (fires, overgrazing).

All this was done under an agreement between the Head of the Sanctuary and the company Electro Sur Este SAA, who somehow seeking recovery of the vegetation of the sanctuary (Machu Picchu), besides all this activity includes actions awareness on the conservation of protected areas and the maintenance of the plantations.
