The Director of the Decentralized Department of Culture of Cusco, Dr. Vidal Pino Zambrano announced that from July 1 of this year will progressively implement the double shift of visitors to the Llaqta Inka of Machu Picchu.

The head of the cultural entity explained that the first visit to the Llaqta of Machu Picchu will be from 06:00 to 12:00 and the second shift will be from 12:00 to 17:30 hours. These shifts will take effect as of July 1 of the current year.

For this purpose, the Decentralized Culture Directorate of Cusco, as of June 1, will attend to the reservation and sale of tickets for these two shifts, according to the procedures in force.

This measure is adopted in compliance with the Regulation on Sustainable Use and Tourist Visit for the Conservation of the Llaqta or Inca City of Machu Picchu, approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 070-2017 of the Ministry of Culture.

The head of the National Archaeological Park of Machu Picchu, Fernando Astete Victoria said that tickets to enter Machu Picchu that have been reserved and purchased in advance for the months of July to December of the current year, will remain in force.
